How this list works
Every gift below is something you can buy at a New York shop in this guide, and each price was checked on the shop's own site on October 30, 2026. Prices and stock change through the season, so the shop's page always has the final word.
The 22 picks come from three shops: Pearl River Mart in SoHo, Big Night in the West Village and The Shop at The Standard in the Meatpacking District. They're grouped by budget, under $50, $50 to $150 and two splurges, and you can filter them by who you're shopping for. All three sell online too.
SoHo: Pearl River Mart
Pearl River Mart (452 Broadway) is the SoHo flagship of the Asian goods store, between Howard and Grand Streets. For a New York book, there's Behind the Counter, a 320-page hardcover profiling 55 New York City shop owners, and a 2027 pocket Chinese almanac with Pearl River Mart on its cover. The shop also stocks loose tea from Anna Ye, a Queens company, solar lucky cats, a girls' dragon-print qipao and Julie Qi Pao's tang-style shirts and dragon denim jackets.
West Village: Big Night
Big Night (236 W 10th St) is a small shop for hosting supplies and hostess gifts, the sister store to the Greenpoint original. Our picks: gold-tone Hot Dog Everything Picks made only for Big Night, the shop's own candlestick holders with Maine-made tapers, Waww's scalloped coupes and bubble vases, a pre-wrapped Finishing Touch Box and a French-made Sabre aperitif set.
Meatpacking: The Shop at The Standard
The Shop at The Standard (444 W 13th St) is the street-level shop at The Standard, High Line. It sells the hotel's diner mug in holiday packaging through New Year's, Eddie Huang's Come Undone conversation deck, Italian-made Standard socks and a Standard Spa candle. For bigger budgets, there's a Blind Barber fragrance, a hand-poured Kouros tray and a red Crash Baggage carry-on.
